I start studying the piano and the electronic keyboards at the age of 8.
Many years later, I put my hands on my first rock music CD and from that moment on my musical ground is deeply shook to the its actual morphology.
I listen to Guns ‘n’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Californication and, from those two albums, two roads are originated: one to lead me to Progressive Rock/Metal, passing through Punk and Hard Rock, and the other to let me range between numerous other genres, among which are Funky, Drum n’ Bass, quality Electronic Music, Fusion and some international Pop too.
In spite of the classic piano studies, I’ve never defined myself a pianist, but a keyboardist (“keyist”, for brevity).
I’ve always been very careful to underline the differences between those two musical figures: the “keyist” has to deal with electronic keyboards and synthesizers, and everything orbiting around them and around the concept of Sound Design.
This is a concept I’m very fond of, because it focuses the milestone every keyboards player, in my opinion, should reach: the ability to craft, model and shape the sound to make it fit his musical needs.
I’ve always believed that the distinctive feature in a keyboards player is the inclination to experimentation.
My true personal and professional growth process, as a “keyist”, starts when I first met the synthesizer and, from that moment on, I’ve never stopped experimenting; currently my musical influences are pretty wide and solid, nevertheless I’m always looking for something new to check out.
Today my main trade with music is composing soundtracks for video, even though I’m also carrying on two important personal musical projects. [portfolio]
During the years I play the electric bass and I discover quite a strong feeling with drums and percussions.
